MINUTES OF THE ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING OF INTERCLUB ALGARVE HELD AT VILAMOURA MILLENNIUM CLUBHOUSE ON 13 JANUARY 2026

Approval of minutes from 2025 AGM
The minutes from the 2025 AGM were approved as written. Acceptance of minutes proposed by Penina and seconded by Palmares.
Management Committee report
The Management Committee report was sent to all member clubs before the meeting, was presented by the Chairman and was accepted following discussion of the Updated Interclub Rules regarding the following point.
Rule 6, 2 b. – line 1 replace “The number of clubs promoted or relegated” with the following “The number of clubs promoted shall always be 2 up, the number of clubs relegated……”. Acceptance of report proposed by Penina and seconded by Silves International.
Financial report
The report was presented and the level of deficit in the year discussed. The deficit for the current year was largely the result of the implementation of the New Web Site, €1,790 costs together with significant subsidy towards the Finals Day costs of €2,361.
It was considered that a one off 2026 Website development charge of Euro 100 per club and by maintaining the present subscription of Euro 200 per club the current level of subsidy can be maintained.
- Subscription to remain at Euro 200: proposed by Serra da Monchique and seconded by Alto, and accepted by a majority approval.
- For the Web Site Development, a one-off amount of Euro 100 per club was proposed by Silves international and seconded by Vale do Lobo and accepted by a majority approval.
Finals day
Vilamoura raised the issue of the time taken to play a shot gun start Better Ball Pairs Competition of 5 and half hours. Whilst it was accepted that the time taken is unacceptable, there was a suggestion from Vilamoura and Penina that the teams for finals day should be reduced from 6 to 4. The consensus of opinion, was that other
teams are happy to keep at 6 players per club as it enables them to include more of their team in the event.
Alto suggested reducing the subsidy but Morgado proposed maintaining as is, with the majority of clubs agreeing that it’s a day when players can all get together and also consider that it’s value for the money.
The MC therefore advised that the cost for finals day will remain at €80 per player.
Vale de Lobo stated that they would be pleased to host Finals Day for 2026 on Monday 30 November 2026. Vale do Lobo advised that the cost for 2026 would be the same as 2025. This did not cover the food element as it was franchised and would need to be discussed and agreed with the MC The total cost is estimated to remain between €95 and €100.
Re-election of Management Committee.
Eric Innes (Boavista) announced that after some 16 Years he was now today standing down from the MC as present Chairman. David McBride (Tavira) had been co-opted to be part of the Management Committee and had been working with the MC during the year. Keiko Bates (Amendoeira) has advised the she would like to stand for the committee.
David McBride proposed by Tavira, Seconded by Vila Sol. Keiko Bates proposed by Parque da Floresta and Seconded by Amendoeira. Both parties accepted by all.
Votes of thanks from the floor and best wishes for the future were received from those present for the work and effort Eric Innes has put in as Chairman, in helping to maintain and improve the interleague to its present status.

The draw was completed after a false start and the MC requested that team captains inform the MC of their playing dates so this information can be shared on the website, so all entrants are aware of the current situation.
Note: The Knockout Cup details will be set out in the NEWS Section of the Web Site and all information will be added by the MC on receipt by email of Fixture Dates and Results from the Home team contact.
New Interclub website
Mark Foot who has been the driving force behind the new web site, handed out short briefing notes an overall view of the New Web Site to each club, along with a brief explanation of how it has been developed and set up. It was anticipated that there may be some early teething problems which would be quickly resolved.
Club contacts
The MC advised that there had been a number of recent changes and correction of contacts information and requested that to enable the new web site to start with the present actual club contacts information, would all clubs advise the MC of their contacts names along with telephone and email details.
Any other business
Penina advised that the tees in use for the coming season will be yellow for both men and
ladies.
The Chairman thanked everyone for their contribution and wished everyone a successful
season. He also politely requested that if information was requested by the MC by way of
email, every effort should be made to respond in a timely manner.
